There are many games such as pool race, water balloon games and many more. Take a look at our website for more details.
Pool birthday parties are awesome, and we know them best here at Lifeguard Services. Though the lifeguard themselves cannot be organising the games, as their role is to watch out for any weak swimmers. We have a whole list of fun games to keep the party lively and get the most out of your pool hire.
Musical water balloon toss
You will need water balloons (these will act as the “parcel”. Just as the original game when the music starts the balloon needs to be passed around. However, when the music stops so does the parcel. For younger children the game in itself is fun as it is difficult enough to pass the parcel when you are bobbing in the water. However, for more older children add in a new rule where if you have the balloon when the music stops you are out. This game takes pass the parcel onto a whole new level!
Pool Race
Swimming contest with a prize for the first three to reach the finish line at the other end of the pool. The pool race can then have different levels inside; swimming without kicking legs, swimming without moving arms and trying to swim while holding a partner’s hand. Disclaimer: Make sure the children are at a good level of swimming before trying the different levels.
Greased Watermelon Relay Race
Making sure you have permission from which ever swimming pool you are using, first of you will need to get a hold on a greased watermelon. Holding on to that slippery melon while swimming with one hand and your legs is incredibly difficult. And very funny too, when it slips and slides out of your hands and into the water.
Invisible Transparent water filled Bottle scavenger Hunt
This game is great for all ages. Starting off you will need a hold of come clear water bottles. These can be your average water bottles with the label taken off. The crystal-clear water in the pool makes a transparent water bottle vanish.
Don’t forget to fill your bottle up with water as this will allow for sinking. Once again, for are older children we have upped the level. In each water bottle (using sharpie or another waterproof pen) draw on small colours. When the children are split into groups, they can be allocated a colour and with their group have to find that colour.

Giant ring toss
Though this game costs a small fraction, we believe it is totally worth it and will make your party 10x better.
You will need: 1 Giant inflatable ring toss game – about 5.5 feet tall
Bring this classic kid’s game to the pool! How many rings can you toss onto the center cone? Each player has a turn to toss all of the rings and the player with the most points wins. The tubes can be used as pool floats when you’re not playing the game. This game can be played in the pool or on the ground.
Beach Ball Squirt Races
This game is liked by all ages and all abilities. You will need: an average sized inflatable beach ball and water squirters
The object of the game is to move your beach ball to the other side of the pool using only your water squirter. Players are not allowed to use their hands to move the ball. The first player to reach the other side of the pool with the beach ball wins. Game can also be played as a relay race.
