Monteverde Cloud forest in Costa Rica does offer not only beautiful swimming spots but also incredible views.
All around the world, you will find stunning spots to swim in, from lakes to beaches, to waterfalls, to hot springs.
This list only provides a few of these swimming spots. There is also no particular order to this list.
1. San Luis Waterfall, Costa Rica

Monteverde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica is a reserve which offers an array of activities such as zip lining across the beautiful landscape, trying the delicious coffee Costa Rica has to offer and exploring the beautiful wildlife.
Another great thing in this reserve is the San Luis waterfall. Although it is pretty difficult to access, it is definitely worth the effort. The waterfall is approximately 300 feet high, and the water is beautifully clear.
2. Red Beach, Greece

Although this beach doesn’t offer beautiful white sands as some other typical popular swimming spots, it still is worth visiting to see the insane contrast of the oxidized red rocks and the gorgeous turquoise sea. The sand has an interesting colour, a mixture between red and black. The sand is this colour because it results from pulverized volcanic rock.
3. Devils Pool, Victoria Falls, Zambia

The name Devils Pool is because there is a high risk of falling into the abyss beyond this little, naturally formed rock pool. A barrier of rocks keeps people from falling; however, the risk is still relatively high. Beyond the barrier are the astonishing Victoria falls.
If you need a bit of adrenaline mixed with gorgeous views, then this is the place for you.
4. Kravice Waterfalls, Bosnia and Herzegovina

As with the San Luis waterfalls, these waterfalls are also surrounded by various fun activities such as rope swings, cafes and nice areas to have picnics. This waterfall is 390 feet. In spring, it has its fullest fall. The water has a beautiful emerald colour and generally looks terrific with the surrounding nature.
5.Bimmah Sinkhole, Oman

Simply said, this is just a hole in the Earth’s crust which is filled with water of a turquoise colour. The sea surrounds it on one side and the mountains on the other. It is easily accessible, with stairs leading right to the sinkhole.
6.Cenotes X´keken, Mexico

Another sinkhole is the Cenotes Xkeken, located in Valladolid, Mexico. The sinkhole is in a cave. Light comes in through a hole at the top. At certain times the light will shine at a certain angle which gives the sinkhole quite a mystic and magical lighting.
There are stairs which give access to this sinkhole.
Stalactite and stalagmite formations spread across the tops of the walls give this sinkhole a whole new dimension.
7. Blue Lagoon, Icelander

This is quite a well-known swimming spot. The Blue Lagoon is a lagoon which is always warm due to the natural hot springs located underneath. Thus making it an even greater experience because you can swim in it even when the air is very cold. The waters have been proven to have healing qualities due to high amounts of sulfur and silica. The water is instantly soothing for people with certain skin conditions, such as psoriasis and eczema.
Silica mud surrounding the lagoon can also be used as a face mask.
8. Phi Phi Islands, Thailand

The Phi Phi Islands are a whole group of islands in Thailand. These Islands are where the film Beach(2000) was filmed. If you have ever watched the movie, you will know how magical the beaches on these Islands look. The typical white sands and clear water. Enjoying the beaches and exploring the islands and the wildlife makes it a whole experience. However, do stay as respectable as possible to the islands’ environment.
9.Aitutaki, Look Islands

Aitutaki is paradise on earth with the most stunning lagoon. On the lagoon, there are 15 small islands. A great plus about this island is that it is not flooded with tourists and so it will feel like having a whole beach to yourself. Although these islands are not as easy to reach, as they do not have a direct route to the islands, it will be well worth it.
10.Hanauma Bay, Hawaii

The water is so clear that you can see all the different fish types without snorkelling. However, snorkelling would elevate the fun, as the more interesting fish is, the deeper you go. This bay is a marine life conservation area which is why there is so much different wildlife to see. Even turtles are hanging around.
If you are lucky enough to visit this beautiful bay, be very respectful of the environment.
The world has so many different breathtaking swimming spots to offer. These were only a few of them. There are also endless swimming spots which probably will stay a secret, waiting to be discovered, or not. So get out there and enjoy the beautiful beaches, sinkholes, waterfalls and lakes as much as possible!
